AppleTV Instructions

The AppleTV allows wireless connection from most Apple devices via AirPlay.  Apple provides AirPlay instructions that provide information to initiate a connection for macOS, iPhone, iPad, and iPod devices. You will want to connect to BIOC-Rm B1144A-1499 in this room.

  1. Make sure the projector is “ON” and “APPLE TV” is selected on the control panel.
  2. You can then initiate a connection to the AppleTV from your device using the instructions provided by Apple above.

You will be prompted to enter a 4-digit security code to ensure you are connecting to the correct device and prevent unauthorized connections.

Once connected you can adjust display resolution, screen mirroring or extended display, etc. as desired from the relevant System Preferences/Settings.

HDMI 1

This connection is located at the desk in the southeast corner of the room near the projector control panel.

An HDMI cable is provided for use with the projector.

  1. Connect the HDMI cable to your laptop or device.
  2. Make sure the projector is “ON” and “HDMI 1” is selected on the control panel.

Once connected you can adjust display resolution, screen mirroring or extended display, etc. as desired from the relevant System Preferences/Settings.

  1. Connect the VGA and USB connections to your device.
  2. Connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI input on the VGA to HDMI Adapter.

You can also manually raise/lower the screen using the up and down arrows on the control panel.

Please make sure the screen is up when you are done.

Presenter/Secondary Screen

This screen mirrors the content displayed on the projector. This can allow the presenter to see what is displayed on the screen behind them. It also allows participants in the back of the room to see another view of the screen, which can be particularly helpful with certain desk layouts.

The screen is on a cart located in the northwest corner of the room.

  1. Ensure the screen is plugged into power and the ethernet connection is connected to the port on the back (west) wall.
    1. Please note that this screen will not work if connected to any of orange network ports.
  2. Press the power button located on the bottom middle of the screen.
    1. Once the display is on you can use the button to navigate through options such as power and input by clicking the button, or make selections by holding the button (example: click until Power is highlighted, then hold the button to turn the display off).
  3. The display should automatically select the correct input, but HDMI 2 is required to mirror the content from the projector.

Please make sure the display is turned off when you are done.

Speakers

The volume dial controls the volume of the audio playing through the speakers in the room. The speakers will play any audio provided by one of the inputs available in for the projector.

You can mute the audio by pressing the “Audio Mute” button.  Press the button again to turn the sound back on.
