Display

A 65″ Sony display is available behind the sliding whiteboards. The display offers two inputs, AppleTV and HDMI.

Please make sure the display is turned off when you are done.

This is an accordion element with a series of buttons that open and close related content panels.

AppleTV Instructions

The AppleTV allows wireless connection from most Apple devices via AirPlay.  Apple provides AirPlay instructions that provide information to initiate a connection for macOS, iPhone, iPad, and iPod devices. You will want to connect to BIOC-Rm 448-1578 in this room.

Initiating a connection from your device should automatically turn the display on and configure it to the correct input. If the display doesn’t automatically power on, you can use the remote to turn it on and select input BIOC-Rm 3407-1605. There is also a physical power/select button on the bottom of the display near the Sony logo. You can press this button to turn the display on. Once the display is on you can use the button to navigate through options such as power and input by clicking the button, or make selections by holding the button (example: click until Power is highlighted, then hold the button to turn the display off).

You will be prompted to enter a 4-digit security code to ensure you are connecting to the correct device and prevent unauthorized connections.

Once connected you can adjust display resolution, screen mirroring or extended display, etc. as desired from the relevant System Preferences/Settings.

HDMI Cable Instructions

An HDMI cable is available just below the screen.

Use the remote to turn the TV on. If the input is not automatically selected, you can press the TV button on the remote to switch to HDMI Cable.

Once connected you can adjust display resolution, screen mirroring or extended display, etc. as desired from the relevant System Preferences/Settings.

Please be sure to neatly return the cable below the display when you are done.

Lighting

There are three light switches near the entrance to the room.

The left switch is a dimmer capable switch that controls the three recessed lights in the room. To turn these lights on or off, press the clear top or bottom of the switch up (on) or down (off). The middle of the switch is a sliding dimmer. Slide up for brighter or down for dimmer.

The middle switch controls the lights on the door side of the room.  The right switch controls the lights on the opposite side of the room.

Please make sure all three switches are off when you leave the room.
